Why it looks like this
The art and the science behind our defaults, and what you can change.
How it starts
- One bright colour per screen, on the thing that matters most.
- No counts, streaks, badges or scores.
- Your day as done, now, waiting and next, instead of a clock.
- What you write is private until you send it.
- You can write something down before deciding what it is.
Pick how it opens
In You, under How Bubbles works, pick the sort of friend that sounds like you. Each one is one of these:
- Mostly just me
- Opens on your day. Nothing is shared unless you send it.
- I keep the plans
- Opens on your places, so the thing everyone is in comes first.
- I keep lists
- Opens on your collections, and keeps them together across everything.
- Tell me what needs me
- Opens on what has arrived, and leads with the one thing waiting.
- I get added to things
- Opens on the people you do things with, and stays quiet otherwise.
A way only changes which screen opens first and the colours of your things. Put it back the way it was, on You, undoes it.
Yours to change
- Light or dark, colours, text size and calm motion: You, under Look.
- Location and maps: You, under Privacy and your data. Both are off unless you turn them on.
- The app notices nothing on its own.
- Everything you capture, and who can see any of it.
